Articulating and embedding an employee value proposition
Challenge
An asset management company needed to secure top talent in a fiercely competitive marketplace.
They asked us to partner with them to articulate an employee value proposition (EVP) that would:
- Empower colleagues to understand their role in delivering the company’s strategy
- Align employee values with overarching corporate strategy
- Demonstrate the value of workplace benefits and conditions
Solution
We designed and delivered team workshops and analysed survey results and competitor EVPs.
Based on this insight, we developed a top-level strategic narrative that aligned with the organisation’s brand and corporate strategies.
To operationalise the strategy, we worked alongside HR colleagues to launch a campaign and weave the narrative into corporate conversations and key touchpoints. We also set out guidelines for creating key communications, including job ads, onboarding materials, communications around benefits packages and other initiatives.
Results
In the first quarter after the EVP launched, employee engagement figures skyrocketed. In the longer term, attrition reduced and the quality of applicants improved.
