The challenge
Our Fintech client had grown rapidly via merger and acquisition – and had rebranded to communicate its expanded offer. But having a compelling external story is one thing. Getting geographically and culturally diverse teams to deliver a single, unifying purpose is another challenge altogether.
Our approach
We engaged with multiple areas of the organisation to understand pockets of existing culture. We engaged with senior decision makers and their external consultants, subject matter experts, as well as legal and compliance colleagues to understand – and sometimes challenge – top-level strategy. We then translated the needs of the organisation into practical, hands-on programmes of training and awareness raising.
Results
Teams from across the organisation joined together behind a shared purpose and vision – putting clients at the centre of all activities and interactions. Teams collaborated, responded more positively to engagement surveys, and importantly, realised greater success in outreach activities.
Empowering analysts to communicate business information
The challenge
Our client – an international £13bn organisation – wanted senior leaders to be able to better leverage business information. But the company’s internal analysts were struggling to communicate key data in meaningful ways.
Our approach
We engaged with senior leaders to understand their needs – and with analysts to understand their approach, concerns, preferences and workflows. We then created a standardised approach for clearly and succinctly reporting BI – with at-a-glance graphics indicating the significance of insights. We then trained the teams to adopt the new approach and implement an updated reporting process.
Results
Senior leaders were better able to understand key insights and make rapid decisions based on them. The operational impact of the new approach was felt across several metrics. Critically, senior leaders were empowered to prioritise actions. And importantly, cooperation and collaboration between analysts and senior leaders improved.
Rolling out a strategically-aligned tone of voice
The challenge
Our client – an international professional membership organisation – was facing increasing competition from national bodies. It was also facing a trend of decreasing numbers of university leavers looking to join the profession. To re-establish relevance, the organisation refreshed its brand and doubled down on its communications, repositioning them to become more client-centric and benefits-driven.
Our approach
We created a strategically-aligned tone of voice, as well as key messaging for the organisation. To achieve this, we engaged with multiple stakeholders to understand needs, wants and concerns. We then brought stakeholders on a journey to adoption, which included creating and delivering organisation-wide training and awareness sessions. We also trained internal trainers so that the approach could become sustainable.
Results
Internally, widespread use of the messaging and tone of voice systems quickly resulted in measurable efficiencies. Internal surveys also showed teams were more aligned on strategic objectives. Externally, across marketplaces, there were upticks in awareness and engagement.
