Terms and conditions for workshops

For residential workshops
When you book, we take a deposit of £350 to secure your place. The remaining balance has to be paid in full two months before the date of the workshop.

We allocate places on a first come, first served basis. We only ever provide up to 12 places on a workshop, so early booking is a good idea.

If you’re taking our Create a Tone of Voice in Two Days course, you’ll need to give us details of the brand you want to develop a tone of voice for.

If you don’t have a brand, we’ll either get you to work on a fictitious brand, or we’ll introduce you to a local business owner.

This business owner is not being paid for their input – and they do not pay for any work produced during the workshop. They are not our clients – they are just volunteering to take part in the workshop.

If two people or more from the same organisation book a place, we’ll offer a discount of 10% per person. To qualify for this discount, the multiple bookings must go through as one transaction.

What if I forget to pay the balance?
We’ll do a moderate amount of nudging up to the month before, and then we’ll have to re-advertise your place – so don’t forget. Your deposit won’t be returned.

For open training workshops
When you book, you’ll need to pay in full to secure a place. If more than one person from your organisation books a place, we’ll offer a group discount of 10%.

To qualify for this discount, the multiple bookings must go through as one transaction.

What happens then?
We’ll send you an invoice when you book, and then we’ll be in touch to find out a bit more about you, as well as what you’re hoping to get from the workshop.

Who do I make a cheque out to?
Wordtree & Me Ltd. Or you can pay by electronic bank transfer. Just give us a call and we’ll supply the details.

Getting here
Travel to and from the venue is your responsibility. The cost of travel is not included in the price. Please check travel times before you make your booking.

Keeping your possessions safe
Similarly, it’s your responsibility to keep your possessions – including your car – safe. It’s probably not a great idea to bring family heirlooms with you, or to leave valuables in your car. Responsibility for loss, damage or expense is yours – not ours or the owner of the venue.

Take care in the outdoors
Our residential training venues are carefully chosen for their inspiring surroundings. They’re often in rural locations – so there’s mud and water and all sorts around. It’s your responsibility to take care around slippery surfaces, rivers, forests and alcohol.

Being nice

We’ve never had this kind of problem, but we have to say this just in case it ever comes up. Everyone who comes to our training workshops has to be nice to us and to everyone else who attends. We reserve the right to ask anyone who behaves in an abusive way to leave, without refund. Please don’t be the first person this happens to.

We will accept cancellations up to 60 days before the start of the workshop. Your deposit – if you made one – will not be refundable. We don’t provide cancellation insurance, but it may be a good idea to invest in some.
