Do one thing to make your communications less boring: Don’t talk about “solutions”

“Solutions” is a word that people – particularly in tech and fintech – like to tack on to propositions to make them sound a bit grander.

But to your audiences, the addition of “solutions” rarely means anything. If anything, it signals that what you’re offering could be complex.

The good news is, it’s a super-easy word to do without. Here’s an example from LinkedIn:

See – no need for those “solutions” at all. We could probably polish the text a little more… but it’s already better because we’ve got rid of a few words we didn’t really need.

So if you feel an urge to write the word “solution” – just stop. Try just dropping the word instead.
